About This Site
This site is business/tech oriented personal approach to whatever seems appropriate.
Utility Room was created to take technical (i.e. too nerdy) stuff away from our family blog, Ruokomaki Lounge.
Drupal was chosen because it was seen as a promising CMS for future projects. The family blog uses WordPress and that would've been the choice for this site, too, but I felt like I had to know for sure whether ModX - that our company site uses - or Drupal would fit certain scenarios.
About the name. Utility room is some sort of a tech room in a building. But more importantly: "In economics, utility is a measure of the relative happiness or satisfaction gained." (Wikipedia) User experience in mathematical terms. They even have a unit for measuring utility! Util. How awesome is that?! Anyways, that gives a "utility room" a whole new meaning, doesn't it. (Although every room is a utility room, some just have more utils - but let's not go there.)
